Tips For Garden Care
During Vacation

HOW TO PREVENT YOUR PLANTS FROM WILTING WHILE YOU'RE AWAY

It's vacation time, and you're taking a break from work, but all your potted plants, flower beds, and indoor plants that you've worked so hard to plant and keep beautiful are staring you in the face. How can you take some time away from the garden without disrupting all the progress your garden has made?

Follow the following tips to ensure that your garden thrives even without your daily care.

FAMILY, HERE I GIVE YOU THE FOLLOWING SIMPLE STEPS TO OBTAIN AN AUTHENTIC GARDEN

GET DRIP IRRIGATION

First, head to your local garden center to stock up on drip irrigation materials, mulch, and one or two timers to connect to your outdoor faucet. Vegetable gardens and flower beds are the easiest to water with drip irrigation.

HOW MUCH WATER DO YOUR PLANTS NEED?

Ideally, plants need at least one inch of water per week. You can estimate how much water your sprinklers, hoses, or drip irrigation systems produce using a rain gauge or a small straight-sided can. Place the can under the irrigation system and determine how long it takes to fill one inch.

CARE FOR CONTAINER GARDENS

Container gardens and indoor plants require a bit more attention and planning so that you can return home to the same beautiful plants you left behind. Your goal is to keep water loss through the leaves as low as possible by maintaining high humidity around the plants and reducing stress caused by intense sunlight and temperature. If you're away for a few days, water the plants thoroughly.

You can group them and place them in a shaded outdoor location to retain moisture. Or add Plant Force+ to your plant mix.
