Today I want to share with you one of my favorite projects: how to plant avocado seeds.
There are different methods to plant avocado seeds but here I will share with you the way I do it and recommend.
Step 1
Selecting the seed
Start by saving the avocado seeds after enjoying this delicious fruit. Clean them gently to remove any fruit residue.
Preparing the seed
Optionally, you can soak the seed in water for a few days to soften it, although this is not necessary.
Step 2
Step 3
Choice of container
Opt for a pot with good drainage and enough space for root growth.
Preparing the substrate
Fill the pot with quality soil, making sure it is slightly moist.
Step 4
Step 5
Planting the seed
Bury the seed in the soil with the wider side down and the sharp point up.
Placement and care
Place the pot in a sunny, warm location and keep the soil slightly moist.
Step 6
Step 7
Germination and growth
In a few weeks, the seed should begin to germinate. Transplant to a larger pot as it grows.
Growing avocado seed in water is also a popular option and can be equally successful. The steps are similar, but instead of transplanting the seed into soil after it has developed roots, you can keep it in water. Keep in mind, however, that water-grown plants may require a little more attention to keep them healthy and will eventually need additional nutrients for optimal growth,
